This painting of a cat skull has a background where half invokes thoughts of fire and the other half thoughts of ash. The cool tones and the subject matter are reminders of death and the warm tones reminders of life. Loosing my two old, dear cats was difficult. Now, I look at the vibrancy of their memories and the beauty of adopting my current cats. Pets sweet and short lifespans remind us of our own mortality and the circular nature of life.
