About
I am very inspired by the impressionist period - I embrace a painterly style and having a flow to my work. Colors whirl around the canvas melting with bright lighting. My work is not for those who err on the side of subtly. Explored in my art are beautiful flora, delicious food, and, in contrast, skulls creating a momento mori motif. My current studio work is focused on making a large series exploring this theme in acrylics.
Having experience as an artist educator, it is hard for me to stick to a single material. I am constantly inspired as I work with my students and research for lessons. While I am primarily a painter - you will see a large range of materials. In terms of painting there are acrylics, oils, watercolors, and encaustics in my art. However, I also draw, work with printmaking, wood burning, collage and many other art forms as inspirations strikes. You never know what you will find in my studio.
